A FRESH START (Posted 04/09/08)

The Dovehouse is proud and somewhat relieved to announce the auditorium now has Air conditioning. So those summer months need no longer be hot and sticky. Even with the lack of sunny days this year we have already felt the benefits and during the winter the units double up as heaters, so with the rise of gas bills surely its more economical to buy a ticket and sit in our cosy little theatre.

The Dovehouse tries to be as environmentally friendly as possible, to help cut down on paper please forward you email address to us so we can inform you of events and keep you up to date with Dovehouse News. Recent efforts to save the planet include investing in 12 LED powered theatre lights. To give you a vague idea of how efficient these are, we could run 30 of these lights off a single 13amp socket in contrast to just 3 of our original lights.

HEATWAVE (Posted 10/01/08)

Anybody who has visited the Dovehouse Theatre during the summer months will know just how hot it can get, The sun beating down on the metal roof, the theatre lights, 60 sweaty children dancing on stage and 150 melting adults in the audience all emit blistering amounts of heat. Air conditioning units in the theatre will benefit all visitors, staff, users, the students and teachers. We are hoping to run a number of charity events to raise the money required, If you have any further ideas for raising funds or would like to donate please do not hesitate to contact us.
